This Decade Plan is especially for new members who want to host but not post. So here it is.. a good plan for your little website project without you having to spend time again and again at our forums. Get a free domain and a decade-hosting plan @ $10 to get sorted for 10 years. $10 for 10 years, i.e. $1 per Year. So pay $10 once and forget hosting for straight 10 years. The catch is, you will get support only via Forums.

If you are wondering about free domain then there are many free domain providers like co.cc / co.nr etc. Or you can opt for a free sub-domain (eg. yourname.trap17.net) (read more)

Package Features:-
  • Quota (MB) : 100
  • Bandwidth (MB) : 1000
  • Max FTP Accounts : 10
  • Max Email Accounts : 7 - google apps with mail, calendar, chat, docs etc. @yourdomain.com
  • Max Databases : 1
  • Max Sub Domains : 10
  • Max Parked Domains : 10

Hey i have one domain in dust as of now and i want to add hosting to that domain. can i add this hositng package for that domain ? cause i have just purchased that from mycents and didn't added hosting or done anything with yet as of now.

one more question, how much do we need to pay for 1GB additional ? i'm asking this here to save my efforts on support ticket (yes my one site hit the limit of 80 percent for 3GB BW) ;)

the disk and bandwidth quota just great, or it seems the package just totally great for my need!
my original site needs only about 75 MB. and while i'm in confusion because next august my current hosting provider will cost me about US$10 annually then comes this package with the offer US$10 for a decade. i should make fast posts earning to buy this package next august then cancel my current account (well though they also offer unlimited databases, sub-domains, and parked domains though) ;)

and anyway why does it only have 1 database? and is it allow upgrading? maybe about 10 years later 1000 MB bandwidth is not enough :P

when opaque stated that this is a plan for people to host but not post, i assumed that posting has nothing to do with this plan. nor does mycents. what exactly did you assume?

I believe this plan is going to be a great success. Although there is only one database support to host the site many of us can actually have this Hundred MB space which is pretty okay for small sites. Now comes the question of bandwidth, and I find that one GB bandwidth is just 10 times of that to the hosting space. This actually is a low bandwidth allocation, and will result into problems for those who have sites with flash and videos.

Nevertheless every small plan has its own advantage and in this case the 10 year span is the biggest advantage should we continue to use it. For registering domain however we will still need about $10 a year and that actually is hundred dollars in 10 years time. If however you are satisfied with the domain name provided free as sub domain then it's not a problem at all.

I welcome the administrator as well as the knowledge sutra community and believe that there will be many takers for this particular plan and bring laurels to this forum.

Wow opaque you sure are doing some good thinking and introducing many interesting features for the members! This is yet another good plan/package and I think many members will be enthusiastic to take it up. As you mentioned, new members who don't like to post often can make some quick posting, get $10 and get their hosting and forget about posting, unless they are paying for their domain through myCENTs as well. Even if that happens, I think they can do enough posting to get at least $1 per month? That wouldn't be such a strain and they can keep their domain and hosting account alive for a long time.

thanks again opaque for this amazing plan. i think i will think of using it ASAP with my new domain.

oh dammit, you're correct : the DOMAIN renewal cycle. i totally forgot that ;)
so if i have to move my current domain to xisto also, that will make another $9.9 addition in my bill. plus my current $2.9 (make that $36 per year) hosting plan and another $9.9 domain, it'll be up to another $56 annually :P
but meh, it should be easy if i can just make another $20 in one month like when i first registered here lol.

but i'm wondering what does this mean?

Support Available only through our Discussion Forum.
so is that mean we cannot just send support ticket to xisto team like other hosting plan?

If you opt for a subdomain like ABC.trap17.net then all you have to pay is $10 for 10 years.

If you go for a free domain like co.nr, co.cc, co.cz then again the charge remains the same

If you want domain registration then you will have to accumulate $10 mycents every year to keep it active.
And yes,
Support by forum means just what it sounds. If you ever require support other than downtime, it needs to be asked at forum.
