The next version of Internet Explorer adds bunch of new features that you'll enjoy if you love Microsoft's programs ( )

Internet Explorer's next version, version 9, will add HTML5 support which features new markups such as

<audio>
<video>
<nav>
<footer>

Other than new markups, there are advanced options such as advanced DOM and other API related scripts. And because the new browser will take audio and video into consideration, the hardware acceleration and support are the first to be utilized as a browser. This means better 2D and 3D support, more complicated video and graphics support from a browser. The age of growing 3D screen on the market, it's natural that the browser will be one of the instruments to render all that technology can equip. And as always, JavaScript will be revamped to suit this new browser to give more responsive development of sites.

However, Microsoft announced that Windows XP will not support this new browser leaving all XPs no higher than Internet Explorer 8...

I don't know why internet explorer made this move of dropping XP. Other browsers reporting nothing against XP and HTML5 based browsers willl work on XP. It's just that microsoft is trying to enforce upgrade i think.

I'm looking forward to HTML5 features,maybe this august or September we'll be able to see it in action.

Exactly, lol this would actually work, but IE is a horrible product, so it won't. Just like nobody in their right mind would consider learning IE filters for CSS gradients and other neat CSS3 features but just make good looks for the real browsers, no sane person will upgrade to 7 or Vista to get IE9. And IE9 is like what IE7 should've been. Too late. Anyway, until they fix their bugs so I can actually browse and not wait for half an hour to navigate to a page and provide good add-ons, I won't consider any change..

I happen to catch this in my daily digging and so I produce some information on Micro$oft's latest browser to be developed, IE9. The first big news is that IE9 will not run on any operating system older then Vista SP2, which means two things. First Microsoft is trying to kill XP users by deploying this method and two they want you to buy a new computer or install Vista or Windows 7 OS on your current computer, ie they want to make some money.

Microsoft's reason for the lack of XP support uh, " it uses the Direct2D feature of DirectX uh when accessing the graphics hardware to accelerate image creation and drawing." Hopefully someone will get that quote. Now lets be honest Microsoft if you have not notice your losing browser shares and your losing them fast, instead of telling every what you don't plant to do, how telling us how you will provide better support and security for a browser that doesn't eve nmatter to a few billion users.

So far you copied pretty much all the other browsers and yet your fatal flaw is security and support and besides the only people who are force to use your browser are businesses that run Windows server or applications that only work decently in Internet Explorer Browsers. It is funny though, I ranting on this move even though I am now running Windows 7, hell I haven't used IE once once on this computer as I am big Firefox fan. It would be funny if the browser is what causes Microsoft to close up shop forever LOL.

Internet Explorer 9 is supposed to be much faster than the previous versions, and the beta out does Google Chrome by a long way in a speed test. If the results are right, it's nice that Microsoft have finally seen a need to improve their products, as IE9 will also have excellent HTML5 support.
I won't be using this though, as I'm an XP/Ubuntu user but perhaps others will switch back from Firefox.

I wonder if the html5 features will work normally in IE9, there seems to be to much versions of Internet Explorer

I am a fan of Opera browser since Opera version 7 and am happy with it, I use IE only when I need to access a site which is IE only.. I mean the site works normally only on IE.

As I know, XP won't be supported as an Operating system quite soon, so why bother to make IE9 work on it? ;] Even though a lot of people will continue to use Windows XP

Okay, so there are a few things I would like to say about this news, and I see no better place to discuss it than on a forum (here, of course ).

• It was expected for Microsoft do drop XP users. After all, Vista and Seven have been out there for years now and they want XP users to buy these. It's not a big thing that will make ALL users switch, but most web developers still on XP are going to have to make that.
  
• Internet Explorer 9 might actually turn out a pretty good browser, but it's still 90 percent certain that it won't overcome any of the current popular browsers (especially Chrome and Firefox, I think). It's admirable, however, that Microsoft decided to take a step in this direction.
  
• Another expected thing is the fact they decided to upgrade Internet Explorer 9 to become a better browser. After all, they're losing their part in the browser usage cake and that's not good for the sales. In Eurpe (I'm not sure about America) they've even been punished with a pretty big fee (because they were offering only Internet Explorer with Windows), and now have to offer different browsers to the users of Windows Seven.

I'm sure there were a couple of more points I wanted to make, but I cannot remember right now. I'll be sure to edit if it comes to me later.

I like that Microsoft is finally offering things all the other browsers don't, but I'm wondering how long that will last (I expect Chrome to be caught up before too long).

I really don't have an issue with them dropping XP support because Windows 7 is superior in every possible way. I think those who haven't upgraded yet should. Especially considering we haven't gotten any information (at least not that I know of) about the next Windows operating system.

Some signs that will force XP users to upgrade are like .NET 4.0 Framework supporting Windows XP SP3 (And most of the developers are rarely going to upgrade to SP3-though some upgraded to it already)- I know i can't upgrade cause there isn't much in it security wise and other upgrades are rarely needed. Other than that future updates of Adobe will start to support only vista and windows 7. Though it's better to upgrade to windows 7 than vista but in any case. Upgrade is painful for many XP users. Though rare people are going to use IE in future unless they offer something which is not offered by any other browser. Other than that i see chrome users decline these days because of lack of add-ons in comparison to opera and firefox. No doubt big thing will be next firefox/Opera upgrade where there is HTML5 support, then opera mini's (mobile browser)launch with HTML5 support. I'm interested in some of the HTML5 updates but waiting for firefox to upgrade. No upgrade to any other browser till then. I don't know what opera mini will offer with new addition of HTML5 features,waiting for that as well.
