Well, DUH! Been thinking, reading, and talking about it for years and the only reasons why they don't worry about this minor problem is that A) Apple makes their own computers, Software is a joke C) too damn expensive. Everyone knows you can get a way better computer for the price tags they put on those computers. Not saying their bad, the price tag just doesn't warrant doing business with them.

This is a very true article out there, I think that guy just slammed it on Apple's face and also encouraged PC Users (like me) but I've always known this. No one really cares about Mac, you spend your time developing for a small percentage for the people while you could have hacked 5 times the more people due to Microsoft's market share. There are about a billion computers out there and 92% of them are Microsoft, 4% of Apple, 2% of Linux and 2% of others, so hackers and malware writers usually aim for the 92% and get the most fun or get any money of them. Alot of the viruses get your address and phone numbers and social security numbers, so most the reason is to get your money.

But the Apple Fanboys aren't going to accept this, not one bit. I myself only own their portable devices and not a Mac. I recently bought Microsoft's Windows 7 and I haven't had a problem with it, so I don't think i would ever switch to Macs. Though, I wonder what kind of viruses might affect Windows 7 in the future? I think it might be Social Engineering viruses that OS X are prone too? But, I don't know that much about viruses beyond the likes of 'Norton 360' and 'Avast' , so I can't really say

I'm not really a fan of the Mac, but since their operating system is very UNIX-like, I'd probably want to get one. I've got an Apple iPhone and with the carrier restrictions and limited functionality, I probably wouldn't get another iPhone unless it is substantially different from the first generation and my carrier offers it at a reasonable price (twice the retail price is not reasonable!).

I use Microsoft Windows as long as it comes pre-installed, since it costs a whole lot less than the retail and there's some way to restore the operating system after trying out other operating systems. I use Linux on older computers primarily because its cheaper than having to upgrade the older computer, both in terms of hardware and software.

In terms of security, the way I have my computer setup, neither Windows nor Linux has a high degree of security but as long as I have a spare laptop to continue working, I'm not really concerned about security hardening. It is possible to get Linux setup in a manner that is more secure than Windows from a theoretical perspective, but because the Windows source code is not freely available, they've got the advantage of security by obscurity. Sure, some people may say that security by obscurity is not real security, but it does keep a large percentage of developers from figuring out what really happens on the insides of the operating system.

I disagree, being open source it is more likely the good guys see the holes first and patch them up. Security by obscurity just leads to brute forcing a copy of the system until it breaks apart and then you search through its guts and find it all out anyway!

Last time i checked Safari was blocked by paypal because it didnt use strong enough encryption. Basically, apple make flashy thing to entice idiots and then say it is the user's fault when their half cocked software deletes itself of their second rate batteries blow people's hands off.

Aww anothe Apple Mac complaint lol. Im still wondering if Apple ever take the time to try and make their product avaiolable to the masses or just the rich people. I mean their standard PC is going for close to 800 pounds and then theres the ones wit a massive screen ranging at 1500 pound sterling. I mean wiith the easy credit system in UK its slight;y easier to get an Apple Mac PC. But then I ask myself whats so expensive about an Apple Mac. Its not even touch screen. If only they were as touchy screeny as the Ipod Touch with the stretch and shrink function not the Windows touch screen which freezes if you over touch the screen or play the drums software to fast.

It makes me wonder if they fully tested the touch screens before they brought them into the market or they just did things to compete against apple as in the Ipods and Itouchs but with out really looking into the product they made extensively. it seems they used the calculator and then drew squiggly bits in paint to see if the screens could really follow touch and then passed the product off as touch screen. I mean if you play the drum kit that normally comes with the WIndows and you do a drumroll after you go real fast the whole touch screen faciliy freezes. you have to revert back to the mouse thereafter or restart the system. I have tried a fair few Windows PC's which are just coming out in different shops and found the same result. I mean there was one facility I like which was the face recognition software where the log in screen would start to recognise you after a while and auto login when you face was sensed by the built in camera. Apart from that feature and the finger print recognition I think they are hope;lessly behind in terms of technology and their competitor Apple will always take advantage of this and over price their product as it is good quality. Also Windows is so widely spread that viruses and threats are mostly designed for the windows based computers hence though Apple users are not security conscious it sort of leaves them free of getting virus attax as most virus wont be able to communicate with the apple mac files.
