how you define our natural resources as SHE or HE??
i think this is interesting topic to discuss about. i was talking with a friend about that and this make me curious so i google it, and found there are many debates about that. defining the natural resources depending on many issues like languages, religions and what is common in a certain area.
so what do you think or how do you name ( SUN, MOON, CLOUD, WIND, STAR, SKY, RAIN, earth )??

to me, SUN is she, MOON is he, CLOUD is she, WIND is he, STAR is she, SKY is he, RAIN is he, and EARTH is she.
maybe it sounds funny but i used to named them this way. i am looking for your replies.

in some religions, it would be the sun god and the moon goddess. the sun will take on the male form and the moon will take on the female form.

you have an interesting way of looking at things when you can start naming the clouds and the wind :) and "blow me" takes on a whole new meaning!

I believe in what Anwiii said, that it kind of depends on your religious views and a little bit of science in it too, but its mostly how you look at things, so each person has a different opinion about this.

I say that the SUN is he, MOON is she, CLOUD is he, WIND is she, STAR is she, SKY is he, RAIN is she, and EARTH she.

Interesting.
I've actually never considered an icy cold hunk of rock, or a huge hot fireball as either male or female, though now thinking about it I could see wind being male, since most males are blow hards anyway :)

Earth has always been mother earth to me, so I'll go along with that one. Stars could go either way, as female, bright and twinkly, or male, distant and only visible at night. Same with clouds, as female, bright fluffy, or male, of no actual substance, just wispy and fleeting. Can't make my mind up on sky either, beautiful and blue with the female, or dark and dangerous as male. Rain? Well, they world couldn't not survive with out some rain, (that would be the female side) or if you believe the story of the great flood in Noah's day, too much rain, (male) could also be the end of the world.

haha you talk about the male version so evil. sheeeesh. but there is one fact. it isn't called mother nature for no reason whether the sky is blue or there is a hurricane. also, most male forms have the prettier characteristics. the easiest to notice this is in birds or fish. but in all seriously, it really defined in certain religious beliefs. if someone doesn't incoprorate those beliefs, it's rare to put a gender to the parts of nature like the sun and the moon, the rain and the clouds, thunder and lightening, etc....

mother nature or mother earth are just words to most. nothing more. i think most people take nature for granted and we underestimate their energies.

i think what you said here like a poetry. Posted Image and you are good in determining qualities even as anwiii said you related the harsh qualities to males and soft qualities to females, hahaaa but you are right in a way.

I, like mother nature, do have a sense of humor. Believe it or not, (my post may not sound like it) I do like men. After all, what would us woman have to complain about and make fun of if it wasn't for men?

Your right about males having the prettier characteristics, as I said, mother nature must definatly be female and have a sense of humor, for it is the bright loud colored strutting male peacock that gets nabbed by the predator while the drab quiet hen sits on the nest and does her part to ensure the survival of the species.

I think it would depend upon it's nature. Sun is fiery and like a rider which has male characteristics. The moon being nimble and gracious and easy to look gives it a feminish outlook
Ofcourse many like in hinduism consider moon to be a God and hence male.
In the deeper sense , in every person there are qualities of both and still some which they dont share also.
Also in hinduism , all Gods and Goddesses are taken as pairs of individuals which makes them unity.
For me the moon and sun and all are both. Nothing is black or white or male or female in the sphere of logic but when looked artistically .. mmm .. would go with
moon being female and sun being male :)

well..that's interesting. most of you refer to the sun as male and moon as female. may that depend on our gender here, i mean every male see the moon as a female and sun as male, and every female see the moon as male and sun ad a female.

anyone agree on this?
