try to download a spyware removal from the net and use it to fix the problem. a better solution is to get an antivirus , install it and make a full computer scan and even much better if you do it in safe mode.

there are many good antivruses like trend micro internet security pro or eset nod 32. for both of them you could get a free trial from the official website, good luck.

Oh. That's really easy to fix. All you need ismalwarebytes. Download malwarebytes and perform a quick scan. Now if you see BSODs (Blue Screen of Death) during the whole process or your computer seemingly restarting..Ignore them. After the quickscan, remove all infected files. Restart your computer and perform the longer scan just to be sure.

Yours is not an isolated case.

I have dealt with hundreds of computers, from different clients, infected with this same type of malicious software claiming to be a valid anti-spyware. If you click on it, it will bring you to a page that asks you to purchase a software, asks for credit card info. Victim. It comes with names like Anti-Spyware 2010, Anti-Virus 2010, Spyware Terminator 2010. The names will most likely have a year extension..it used to be 2009, then 2010 came. I'm pretty sure new versions of these malware will have 2011, 2012, and so on.

The IRONY of this incident is that the recommended cleaner for that kind of infection is really the full version of the spyware. So don't install what that popup is saying that you need to be installed. Most questionable anti-malware companies are doing this in hopes of getting some sales but the other end of the spectrum is more shady since this companies also resort to selling the private informations stored on your computer on who ever can pay more.

Follow linekill's advice of using malwarebytes, that can help remove that rootkit trojan malware.

I would recommend AVG as its free and also light on your computers resources. Its easy to use. There is a pay version but the free one is all I need. Just do a full scan ( Not the quick one just to make sure it gets everything ) might take a while though. I'd do it when you don't have anything to do on the computer.

AVG's spyware filter is not that powerfull in comparison to spybot search and destroy or malware. AVG has enough protection to keep some typical browser kiddies away. Not powerfull spyware protection imo though. You should download these:

- Malware bytes antimalware
- Spybot search & destroy.

This will keep most of the intrusions away. Download script-block on firefox, plus enable pop-up blocker.

I would suggest getting anti-malwarebytes and bitdefender they are the best AV programs I have used so far and for future reference when you download a suspicious file use a program called sandboxie

I use the Spybot search & destroy. Have had real good luck with it. Just remember to occasionally run the update feature, I usually run the update and then run the program to check for spyware. Of course, best thing is it's free.

And speaking of spyware and viruses, has anybody tried the most recent couple of TV promotions, like, "mycleanpc" and thee is another one I can't remember off the top of my head. They are supposed to clean out everything that would slow up your computer. I remember a few years ago they had one called Stop Sign. I tried and and I swear it really screwed up my computer. I was just wondering if these latest ones were any good. Really afraid to even think about trying them after my first run in with Stop Sign.
