I have a relay with specifications:
http://octopart.com/...ioshack-7530642
When I apply power to the coil, nothing happens. I just cant figure it out. I also have a 35v 1000mF capacitor, which I believe is defective. The capacitor will charge, but I don't think it is holding the charge too well. It is big and blue, if that means anything.

According to one of the reviewers, the relay doesn't use the same pin layout as other relays. I know it sounds obvious, but check that you're applying power to the right pins
Big blue capacitors ( a technical term, that one
) are almost always electrolytic, so make sure you've got it round the right way in your circuit.

As for the relay, I'm going to retry it later.
