rpgsearcherz is right. I'd be more afraid to give out even the smallest and most trivial information to people I see in real life because they could actually and physically do something about it. People I'm talking to on the net could be a hundred million miles away from me and even if I give them small information, they can't be able to do much about it.
And Facebook is a different thing altogether. You should only add people YOU KNOW on Facebook since its really open and there are privacy settings there, whether you'd like to show whatever you post to friends, friends of friends or to the whole world.
