The speciality of some famous singers and groups and what made them famous is that they combined music styles in a way never done before. Like Elvis Presley combined folk song with rock and roll, Run DMC combined rap with rock music and Cher Lloyd combines rap with pop music.

Cher Lloyd

Cher Lloyd is a girl of 16. She auditioned in the talent show TheXFactor in England. Her choise of the song, her rapping in the song, her performance and dance moves and her attitude surprised and pleased the judges and a big part of the audience.

I think there's a lot more complexity to being a famous singer than simply combining two musical genres Or perhaps it is merely a matter of luck? I couldn't begin to define what makes a good vocalist, there's too much opinion involved. I do like think a unique sound is a good quality in music though. I enjoyed your post about music, however brief it may have been.

I think you should have the talent, the guts and you must be different be get notice. Copycats don't really get famous. You must have your own style and moves.
