Putting In Videos With Dreamweaver

Ive been to numerous sites where people can click on a link and download a video. Maybe its something very simple but idont know.... If someone could show me how do this using dreamweaver that would be appreciated... also where would i upload the file too... bc its a video, so would it go in just the public folder or in picture or what? plz tell me bc ive been wondering about this for a while, same thing with a music download link, i suppose they are the same

I would think so. To insert them, you have to embed. So...would the default opposite of that be the simple link that you can "download" music? I'm kind of wondering about this too.

I'm not sure i understand the question. A download link is just a link, no embed needed and you can put the files where ever you want on your server(just make sure your link path is correct).
Now if you want people to see the video on your site you can
Dreamweaver menu
Insert
/media
/plugin
after that just link it to you file, works with .mov or .avi

i think i have a solution with your prob.. you can visit this site www.webcodez.com then find the videos that you want... get the codes and embed it to your dreamweaver.. and you will see! im developing a site right now and im using dreamweaver so if you need help, as long as i know ill help you!

yep this is what I just did on my site before and it worked fine, if the original poster just wanted to create a link for the video to be downloaded he just need create a link then point that correctly to the file or maybe he wanted to do what google or youtube does.

Wow i was also wondering, its funny as the way i immagined it to be was so complicated. I thought that you needed to create a special sort of link to a website hosting the file and then add some code and stuff to it. So thanks for suppling me with an answer.
