This depends very much on how much money you have to spend, how good your power supply is, what your case is like, how old the rest of your PC is etc. You also need to consider what you use your PC for - a really powerful card simply isn't worth it if you're not playing the latest and greatest games at massive resolutions. If you can provide us with some more details we can offer some advice.
