Any recommended free Lan messenger for Windows vista and Windows 7, since I need to find a replacement for net send on Windows 7. Currently I'm evaluating Bigant office messenger, any suggestions based on your experience, thank you.

Try looking into your system32 folder, assumed that it is "C:\Windows\System32" (without quotes) for a file called msg.exe But some low level versions of Windows 7 do not have it.
If it's there in system32 try opening a command prompt, and type msg.exe you will get its help also in command prompt
