The next piece of software i want to talk about is quite interesting or weird or something, it is called f.lux and what this program does is change the brightness of your monitor based on the time of day. The goal of this program is help you not go blind during the night because of your bright monitor, though I don't know how orange was the color of choice when it became night. Either way, it dims your monitor to a dull enough color that is easy on your eyes when your working at night and somehow your light source doesn't work, mind you, it is a good idea to have a light on while working on your computer.
Anyway, there isn't much customization to the program but one little feature i like is it automatically tracks your location, by your clock I hope (not really it seems to do an IP trace of your location), that way the program works correctly ie the screen is bright during the day and dull during the night. Another feature worth mentioning actually fixes a rather troublesome problem and it makes you wonder what is the point of having it to begin with.
The problem mostly concerns designers and Photoshop users and it has to deal with working with colors. It would seem the dull color used at night interferes with how color display correctly and so the good ole boys added in this feature of in which you disable the program for one hour in order for the user to work with color. It is not game breaking to say the least, but it kind of defeats the purpose of the software, either way if you have sensitive eyes and like to stay up ALL NIGHT then try this program out.
