gotta be mp4, microsoft will not allow sony to play WMV, but yes to WMA. The trouble with mp4, its not compressed, so it takes up a heck of alot of space.

well your psp can only play mpeg-4 videos. but downgrading/custom firmaware can make you play other file types like wma.

If you update your firmware regularly, there are more format you can use, recently version 5.00 firmware was released, this allows playback of a few more formats. If you visit www.yourpsp.com that has information on all of the latest updates, and all supported formats ect.
You can play any lenghth of videa that fits on your memory stick, althoughin some formats, video will have to fit resolution requirements if it is larger than a certain size.
Note you will need up to date firmware to use any memory stick larger than 2gb.

PSP MoviesSony Psp Memory Card

I use Cucusoft Ultimate DVD + Video Converter Suite it seems quite good for converting movies in most formats like DVDs just pop the DVD into your PC and it does it for you. 90 min films normally average between 400 and 500 meg (so better invest in a good size memory card)  for good quality picture
